About

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here.

Becoming Delta began with a house—but really, it began long before that.

I’ve dreamed of restoring a home for as long as I can remember. It’s been a persistent tug on my heart—quiet but constant. I grew up watching my dad remodel almost every house we lived in. The smell of fresh-cut lumber, sheetrock, paint, and concrete still stirs something deep in me. Restoration is in my bones. It’s part of my wiring.

As a Realtor, I walk through a lot of houses—some are perfect just as they are, move-in ready and brimming with inspiration. I get tons of great ideas from those. But others are forgotten or worn—and without fail, I start remodeling those in my mind. Where others see dated and damaged, I see beauty, patina, and potential. I feel houses. I believe they have a soul. And my heart always leans toward the ones that are tired, worn, and waiting for someone to believe in them again.

So when my sweet friend asked me to help sell her father’s house after his passing, I pulled up to the front—and something stirred. And the moment I opened the door, I knew: I was home.

That house? A slightly dingy, very neglected 1979 Tudor tucked into the roses and azaleas of South Tyler. She was tired. But she was beautiful. And she was mine.

Becoming Delta isn’t just a blog. It’s a story.

A story about restoring a house—but also about the life within it.

Here you’ll find before-and-afters, DIY projects, creative decorating, and all the beautiful chaos that comes with breathing new life into old walls. But you’ll also find stories. Reflections. Glimpses of grace in the middle of the mess.

After raising two amazing children, walking through divorce, and facing down cancer, I’ve come to believe something deeply: Life isn’t lived in the destination—it’s lived in the becoming. Not in the polished after photos. Not in the finished product. But in the in-between. The Delta.

In science, delta (Δ) represents change. In geography, it’s where rivers merge—like the mighty Mississippi flowing into the Gulf of Mexico. A place where one body surrenders to another, where fresh water meets the vast deep. To me, it’s a picture of the Holy Spirit—meeting us, moving through us, and carrying us from what was into what’s next.

The Delta is where God does His best work—in the growing, the grieving, the healing, and the grace.
